about Authography LLC

Authography LLC was established in 2016 to help authors and other creative artists navigate the legal waters of their professional lives. We consult on various agency and publishing contracts, as well as any other legal issues that arise in a creative artist’s life – such as concerns about defamation, copyright infringement, trademark protection, and the like.

Authography LLC fills the gap for those who do not qualify for pro bono assistance, but who would also struggle to afford an attorney or business planner.

The company also provides advice on writing: its founder, Jacqui Lipton, is a law professor, literary agent, and occasional writing instructor specializing in  creative development and business/legal advice.

In the years Authography LLC has been in operation, we have advised many authors, artists, agents and publishers on contracts and other legal issues – as well as presenting webinars and workshops around the country to authors and artists. We are also more than happy to provide referrals for cases that fall beyond our general services.
